Hi,

upon request of users of Mozilla Suite, I've compiled the latest version
of Enigmail for Mozilla 1.7.x also. To get it works you need also a
patched version of nspr4.dll.

This version, and the nspr4.dll patch, can be downloaded from my homepage:

ask anyone, I've moved my stuff from outpostbbs.us to
http://outpostbbs.net. I apologize for the short notice, but I changed
everything over this morning.

Net: OS/2-eComStation forum at QEMU

30 Mar 2005 17:16:06

From: user_ecsDESPAM@DESPAMyahoo.com

OS/2-eComStation forum at QEMU

QEMU is a "virtual machine" app like VMware or VirtualPC. The program lets
you run OS/2 on top of Linux or ms win so you can use OS/2 without
rebooting.

At the QEMU Virtual Machine web site
is a new forum for discussion of how to
run OS/2 and eComStation in QEMU.
<http://fabrice.bellard.free.fr/qemu/lists.html>

They also need more developers to help optimize running OS/2 in the QEMU.

(that is, the BBS system runs under OS/2-the BBS software may not be).
It's small, but active. You can get the list via the URL below or via
email by sending an email to freqDESPAM@DESPAMoutpostbbs.us with the
subject of FREQ and message body of FREQ OS2BBSLIST. If you're in
Fidonet, send a netmail to 1:18/200 addressed to Infomail with the subject

SW: XFree86 4.5.0

29 Mar 2005 20:07:06

From: madodelDESPAM@DESPAMptdprolog.net

I don't use XFree86, but I noticed that there is a recent update on the
netlabs.org ftp site, with some changes as of today.

For more on XFree86 see: http://www.xfree86.org

"The XFree86 Project, Inc is a global volunteer organisation which
produces XFree86 , a freely redistributable open-source implementation of
the X Window System. XFree86 runs primarily on UNIX and UNIX-like
operating systems like Linux, all of the BSD variants, Sun Solaris both
native 32 and 64 bit support, Solaris x86, Mac OS X (via Darwin), SGI's
Irix as well as other platforms like OS/2 and Cygwin."

ftp://ftp.netlabs.org/pub/xfree86/4.5.0/

From the readme:

README for XFree86/OS2 v4.5.0
=============================

- There aren't too many changes this time. That's why the README of
version 4.4.0 is included here. All of it still applies with the following
additions/changes.

- The distribution is now a little different:

X450bin.zip binaries, /etc (required)
X450lib.zip libraries, modules, some bitmaps (required)
X450X11.zip mostly application defaults, keymaps,... (required)
X450fnts.zip misc, TrueType, Type1, Speedo, cyrillic fonts
(required)
X450f75dpi.zip 75dpi fonts (required)
X450sup.zip xf86sup.sys + shm.dll (required, but same versions as
in 4.4.0, no need to update)
X450f100dpi.zip 100 dpi fonts (optional)
X450doc.zip manpages, HTML docs (optional, but recommended)
X450prog.zip application development kit (optional)
X450extras.zip Xnest, Xvfb, DMX (optional)
FILES.zip a complete file listing
SUMS.md5 md5 checksums of archives

- New DMX server (distributed multihead). Read the documentation if you
want to play with it. No local input devices are supported, only input
events from the back-end server. Anyway, this is probably not very stable.

- mkfontdir is a program again. However, mkfontscale still works as
described below.

- There are a couple of programs for debugging (inb, inw, inl, outb, outw,
outl) included. They can perform I/O the same way the X server does,
reading from and writing to ports. They are probably a great means to
thoroughly crash your machine. Either handle with care or not at all!

- If you upgrade from version 4.4.0 you only need the files
X450{bin,lib,X11}.zip. There is no need to upgrade the fonts.

- After installation, do not forget to edit /etc/fonts/fonts.conf (which
will be overwritten during install) an run fc-cache as described below.

- As a dirty workaround for the ctrl-c issue that was raised some time ago
on the mailing list, SIGINT is now ignored in the server. Ctrl-c is not
seen in xterm because this is disabled in xf86sup.sys. Use the xterm menu
instead to send the INT signal.

with quite a few new topics, and the HOWTO is available as HTML as well as
a PDF:

http://www.dfsee.com/dfsee.htm#intro

DFSee is the SWISS-ARMY-KNIFE for disk and filesystem problems. With
FDISK-like displays, analysis and recovery, FIX commands, UNDELETE for
HPFS/NTFS, imaging and cloning. More details at:

http://hobbes.nmsu.edu/pub/incoming/dfsee702.zip
http://hobbes.nmsu.edu/cgi-bin/h-search?key=dfsee

Most important functional changes since 7.01:

Also note that files are only on IBM's testcase for 2-3 days, so if you
want to try these get them now. Make certain you back up any files
replaced and don't try these on a production system. Read any readme file
before applying any changes. If your system is working well, and you have
no problems addressed by these updates, do yourself a favour and don't
mess with this. You have been warned.

The UNI and SMP files are for WSeB/ACP/eCS Pro (SMP kernel) and the W4
files are for post FP15/MCP versions, including eComStation. Only use the

Net: Let's gather solutions based on OS/2

28 Mar 2005 11:06:57

From: "Eugene Gorbunoff"

Let's gather solutions based on OS/2

OS/2 (eComStation) is alive while people are using and improving the
system. The developers of solutions ensure long life for our operating
system because computers with OS/2 make money for their customers year by
year. The developers bring new industrial technologies to OS/2, feed
support service, fill OS/2 with unique features to keep the solutions
competitive.

* Examples of solutions based on OS/2:
ATM, sound processing (speech, digital restoration of sound), training
devices (astronauts, oilmen), technical appliances (measuring, medical),
virtual machines (mainframes, SVISTA), CMMS, restaurants, etc.

* Why should you write the story today?
1. You should do this to protect your investments made into OS/2
platform.

2. OS/2 users are located in different countries and cities. They will
read
the story because of OS/2 word :) and spread the information about
your company and products among own colleagues.

3. The developer of the operating system will get information about your
requirements and improve OS to satisfy them.

4. Your story gives stimulus to thousands of users, developers and
companies.

5. It's easy. Solution storiy is based on usual product flyer.

* Where to collect solutions?
www.ecomstation.ru site is hosting the Solutions list since 2002. Now it
contains texts on russian language only but you can publish german,
dutch, english texts there.

* How to write Solutions story?
Take the flyer of your product, add the Introduction, add one-two
paragraphs about advantages of OS/2 usage, add 2 advertisement
photos/screenshots, 2 screenshots of back-end demonstating usage of OS/2.
Send the story to e-mail: support (at) ecomstation.ru

GSview is a graphical interface for Ghostscript under MS-Windows or OS/2.
Ghostscript is an interpreter for the PostScript page description language
used by laser printers. For documents following the Adobe PostScript
Document Structuring Conventions, GSview allows selected pages to be
viewed or printed. GSview requires Ghostscript 7.04-9.19.

Download: ftp://mirror.cs.wisc.edu/pub/mirrors/ghost/ghostgum/gsv47os2.zip

Changes in version 4.7:

* Fix text extract for PDF files.
* Text extract (pstotext) now recognises excessive space within text
as being separate words. Recognises a few more ways of showing text.
* Fix problem with forgetting page offset and device settings.
* When displaying Full Screen on Windows with multiple monitors,
display full screen on the last monitor. When dialogs are centred on the
display, put them on the first monitor.
* Use pagesize from %%BeginFeature: *PageSize if no other page size is
given.
* Set auto orientation %%ViewingOrientation if present, in preference
to %%Orientation.
* Win64 build.

AFPL Ghostscript 8.50 http://www.cs.wisc.edu/~ghost/doc/AFPL/get850.htm

Ghostscript is an interpreter for the PostScript (TM) language. A
PostScript interpreter usually takes as input a set of graphics commands.
The output is usually a page bitmap which is then sent to an output device
such as a printer or display. PostScript is embedded in many printers.
