WarpWeekend and Warpstock Europe 2003&2004

Here is the *official* annouchment about WarpWeekend and Warpstock Europe 2003&2004. The website http://www.warpweekend.com is now also finished. (down to some VERY small details)

First of all here is the annoucement from John Bijnens, who did his very best to get a Warpstock Europe this year:

I have some sad and some good news about Warpstock Europe 2003. The sad news is that due to external factors beyond my control it is no longer possible for me to organize Warpstock Europe 2003 in the KHLim in Diepenbeek, Belgium.

The good news is that this does NOT mean that there will be no OS/2 event this year. Thanks to the enormous efforts of Roderick Klein of Mensys a WarpWeekend will be held in Roermond in the Netherlands from Friday October 31st (12.00h) through Saturday November 1st.

*So this means there will be NO Warpstock Europe this year!*

However John Bijnens indicated there will be a WarpWeekend. Which will be held in the south of the Netherlands in the the city of Roermond. For hotel, program, route and more information visit:

http://www.warpweekend.com

Please note you need to reserve your lunch in *advance*!
Cost for lunch for one day will be 7,50 Euro including 19% VAT.

As a last point I would like to tell you all that Gerrit Schoenmaker and Bart van Leeuwen will organize a Warpstock Europe 2004. It will be again in Arnhem in the Netherlands. The same location where Warpstock Europe 2002 was held.

new z-mp3 player update

Hi all, theres a new version of z! with enhanced .wav playback (pause/volume control/time index/seeking/etc) available @ http://dink.org/z/zmsgbase.html?read=J4X6N3P4X0

regards,
- dink

"whats new:
x added a native .wav playback (instead of spawning MMOS2), so you can seek/pause/change the volume and see the timeindex of wav's (needs testing!)

whats new in the last version:
x fixed: moving/copying files with really long names corrupts the file dialog
x fixed: loading .pls/.m3u playlist remotely in some cases
x fixed: shoutcast stream finder ('h' key) would display corrupt directory entries after you leave the virtual directory
x fixed: if no files or directories exist on the drive, z! would exit
x fixed: remember the position in the file list if a file was deleted while playing

lSwitcher 2.7 beta 4 available

Beta 4 of the new version of lSwitcher has been released. It is available for download at http://www.ece.msstate.edu/~avl1/lSwitcher/lsw270b4.zip

For those who are not familiar with the program, lSwitcher is a task switcher application for OS/2 and eCS, which includes an enhanced replacement for the standard Alt-Tab switcher and a feature-rich task bar. The program is implemented as both a standalone application and an XCenter widget.

In beta 4 task bar of the standalone application is made XPager-aware and is always shown in the current virtual desktop. Folder grouping has been implemented. Reported bugs which I was able to recreate were fixed.
