Regarding Ceres SoundStudio... though we have no knowledge 
as to the company's status, in viewing the German website, 
we have noticed that the site is dated 1996.

In searching HitSquad, a version (2.0) of SoundStudio for 
OS/2 was found, dated April of 1998. The URL is as follows:

http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/Ceres_SoundStudio_os2/

It seems there has been a release for OS/2 almost two years 
after the German site in question was last updated. Thus, 
their commitment to OS/2 probably isnt in question, though 
their continued existence perhaps may be.

Ceres' US site has actually been down for quite some time, 
and may be no indication of their demise or commitment/lack 
thereof for OS/2. In checking other sites under 
HitSquad.com, we've found home pages listed when known - 
while there is none listed for Ceres. Though this is 
guessing, perhaps that is because though they are still 
working on SoundStudio, their site no longer exists. This 
would coincide with the recent release, and lack of a site 
for a number of months.

Though this post still leaves a lot of questions, it does 
at least answer the question of their commitment to OS/2. 

As for SS/2 itself, it is an excellent app that performs 
relatively well in our experience (other than a quirk in 
the "fade out" function which "fades in" instead). We have 
used it to edit single track 72 minute mixes without error 
or incident.
