Smart Windows is an OS/2 user interface enhancer with both
aesthetical and functional features.
If you're using it you could have the following problems:
-1) Since patch #6.3 the "maximized windows" options work.
You could have previously checked the option "Override
default size and position" leaving the size fields to
a value of "0" (zero). This hadn't any effect with the
previous versions since the feature hadn't yet been
implemented, but now, when maximizing a window you'll
see it disappear from the screen since you are forcing
maximized windows to a size of 0 x 0 pizel.
Just disable the option if you do not need it or set
the size and position spinbutton to suit your needs.
-2) When disabling Smart Windows, the superlassed window
procedure is still active and keeps track of some
events in case you re-enable it later.
A future release will offer a better "disabling"
function. In the meantime, if you are experiencing
problems with some application, add its executable name
to the general exceptions list (it is on the 3rd page
of the preferences notebook). This way the superclassed
window procedures are completely disabled and the
application should be able to work correctly.
