Hi, I just found that there are OS/2 drivers 
for the i740 on Intel's site. The URL is:

ftp://download.intel.com/design/graphics/drivers/lpv1.1.zip

It's listed as a legacy driver :) works great here...it 
does take a little more time than usual when switching to 
graphics mode, but otherwise, installed and worked right 
the first time.
