The JavaDive for OS/2 methods allows Java applets to get a direct
access to the hardware I/O and COM/LPT ports, directly, without
drivers. These methods will be helpful for application developers for
working with industrial hardware, medicine technics, modems, lasers,
electronic info-tables and other devices.
Note that JavaDive requires OS/2 Warp 4.x with Netscape Navigator and
Java 1.1.x.
You can download it from "incoming" directory of Hobbes:
http://hobbes.nmsu.edu/pub/incoming/javadive.zip
The directory for further placement is:
http://hobbes.nmsu.edu/pub/java/dev/javadive.zip
but there is an old version of JavaDive there now.
