Call for Warpstock 2004 bids

It has been about 4 months since we last sent out a notice looking to see if there is any interest from any group to make a bid for hosting Warpstock 2004. To date we have had a few questions about the hosting process, but no one has actually stated an interest in submitting a bid. The deadline for submitting an interest in making a bid is December 31, 2003. Actual completed bids are due by February 28, 2004. So if you are thinking about doing so, now is the time to let us know.

Warpstock 2003 was a success, so we feel there is still sufficient interest to keep the event going, but we can't do that without the help of a dedicated local group of OS/2-eComStation users.

Every year some people complain that the location is too far or too expensive for them to attend. Or people think we are doing the entire event wrong and should do it more inexpensively (youth hostels/University setting?) or more professionally, or just different. Here is your chance to determine the location, the structure and the cost. So if you are interested in making a bid please send a letter outlining your ideas to madodel@ptdprolog.net. See the Bid Proposal page http://www.warpstock.org/about/bid_proposal.html for more information.

LEDPanel 0.8.0 bitmap font

LEDPanel is an OS/2 bitmap font resembling the digits (and letters) of a LED display. While there are Type 1 and TrueType fonts out there on the net, they all suffer from the bad font rendering on OS/2.

The LEDPanel font comes for 96dpi and 120dpi system and 3 different faces: Bold, Condensed and Normal.

Its primary purpose is to be used on digital clocks on the e/xCenter and other kinds of panels, providing a sharp and neat display in different styles..

NoteBook/2 announcement

Dated 2003/12/12, Dr. Martin Senftleben and os2warp.be reached an agreement concerning the future of the outdated NoteBook/2 web site, initially developped by Martin. The web site will be taken over by os2warp.be and will be given a new home at www.os2warp.be/notebook2, with the online publication during March 2004. The old web site will be updated completely. os2warp.be intends to continue the NB/2 initialive and we hope a lot of motivated OS/2 users report their feedback or write reviews about particular notebooks and OS/2 or eCS. The old NB/2 web site will be put offline soon and will then temporarily be hosted at os2warp.be until the renewed one is finished.
