SW: Correction of link Samba 3.0.9a1

08 Jan 2005 17:08:30

From: madodelDESPAM@ptdprolog.net

Sorry I posted the wrong link in the original post. Correct link is:

ftp://ftp.netlabs.org/pub/samba/samba-3.0.9-a1.zip

Please note this is an *ALPHA* release. If you don't know what that means
don't run it.

"SAMBA is a SMB/CIFS protocols file and print sharing server/client set
originaly made for UNIX world to cooperate with corresponding Windows and
OS/2 servers or clients. OS/2 has native implementation of SMB/CIFS
server/client set - IBM LAN Manager and IBM Peer. These products haven't
been updated for a long time and have some compatibility problems with
modern Windows SMB/CIFS implementations.

This package is the OS/2 port of SAMBA 3.0.9 server/client tools compiler
under innotek C runtime (currently custom build is used)."

SW: Wireless LAN Monitor (WLAN) 1.11

03 Jan 2005 20:38:49

From: madodelDESPAM@ptdprolog.net

ftp://ftp.netlabs.org/pub/wlan/xwlan111.zip

" this program provides the following features:

monitoring the status of your Wireless LAN connection
support of multipe connection profiles, which can be exported and
imported
optionally configuring the TCP/IP interface of the Wireless LAN device
automatic connection scan on startup
automatic generation of WEP keys
detection of public Wireless LANs
execution of a script on (dis)connect events

The Wireless LAN Monitor is available both as a XCenter Widget as well as
a standalone program. If either XWorkplace or the OEM-Version EWorkplace
(contained in eComStation V1.1 or better) is installed, the usage of the
XCenter Widget is recommended because of the better integration into the
user interface. "

"New:

IP address range conflicts are now also dectected, when any other
interfaces is configured to a TCP/IP address of the same range of the
interface of the Wireless LAN device (before range was checked only at
that point of time when TCP/IP interface of the Wireless LAN device got
configured)

Fixed:

The configuration via DHCP did not work if another TCP/IP interface was
previously configured with a dhcpstrt command. In such cases the TCP/IP
interface of the Wireless LAN device remained deactivated. "

SW: RBLcheck 2.1 released.

03 Jan 2005 11:37:22

From: os2softwareDESPAM@besse.nl

RBLcheck 2.1 is released.

This new version features better header parsing and a very simple form of
a local blacklist.

RBLcheck identifies and tags spam mail. It can be used with POP clients
and mail servers.

I'm considering a stand-alone version and/or a mozilla/thunderbird
version. Please tell me whether you use the current version (with what
mail software and whether RBLcheck works good for you) and/or whether you
would want a stand-alone version; you can enter your comments in the forum
on the RBLcheck site.

SW: Samba Client NetDrive Plugin Beta 5

02 Jan 2005 13:34:25

From: Adrian Gschwend

The Samba CIFS/SMB Client NetDrive Plugin has been updated, changes in the
latest version:

beta5:
- added file locking
- added 64bit file IO (when working with NDFS 2.3+)
- moved to 3.0.9 samba code (latest stable)
- built against custom Innotek libc version (included into package)

Note that for 64bit IO Support you have to wait for the new Netdrive
release which should be released soon. With that release you will be able
to use file size bigger than 4GB.

You can get the new release at:

http://samba.netlabs.org/

Direct link:
ftp://ftp.netlabs.org/pub/samba/ndpsmb-3.0.9-b5.zip

Bugs should be reported to the XTracker at:
http://xtracker.netlabs.org/index.php?project=22

We will soon release a Samba Server for OS/2 as well. If you are
interested in *early* beta versions you can contact me (ktk@netlabs.org)
directly. Thanks to nickk for all the work!

Happy new year!
