SW: Update: Innotek OS/2 Kit for Java 1.4.2_05 available.

14 Jul 2004 09:24:16 -0500

From: "Larry Lavins"

[Moderator's note: Regarding the post announcing the update of Innotek
OS/2 Kit for Java 1.4.2_05 on July 11, 2004. If you downloaded the update
the day it was announced, and are experiencing any problems, you should
download it again. ]

Major problem turned out to be the Java 1.4.2_05 release file which I
originally downloaded after seeing your announcement on the Voice
listserver. Achim advised me that this file was corrupted and had been
replaced. And that I should download the new file and install it over the
earlier installation. Achim also provided responses to all my other
concerns. FYI, the replacement file size is 17,858,937 bytes; and the
earlier corrupted file size was 17,819,462 bytes.

I downloaded the replacement file right away, and installed it over the
previous installation. Very fast, no problem. This solved most of my
previous concerns, etc. But there are still 2 or 3 remaining issues which
I'll send to Achim, and ask for his advice.

SW: FotoGet/2 Version 1.0.4

11 Jul 2004 15:40:49 -0500

From: Herwig Bauernfeind

This is the public release of FotoGet/2 Version 1.0.4, a freeware utility
to ease the transfer of your pictures from your digital camera to your
OS/2 (eComStation) desktop. The camera must be accessible from OS/2 by a
driveletter. As you might know already, this is not a device driver.

What is new in this release?
+ FotoGet/2 can be minimized while doing the transfer
+ When opening a subfolder from FotoGet/2, all objects are
rearranged automatically (i.e. no more overlapping
thumbnails when light tables are used).
+ A roughly estimated transfer speed is shown.

What was fixed or changed in this release?
! Choosing a subfolder that is not a child of
the base folder causes the basefolder to be
changed, too. A warning msg is now shown in
these cases. The old behaviour was odd, not
really a bug, the result however was probably
quite unexpected for the user.
! Turn on extended logging only if debug mode
is enabled.

Support is provided on YahooGroups.
Visit http://groups.yahoo.com/group/fotoget/ to check out!

Get FotoGet/2 from hobbes:

Hobbes Incoming: < http://hobbes.nmsu.edu/pub/incoming/fotoget104.wpi >
Hobbes Search: < http://hobbes.nmsu.edu/cgi-bin/h-search?key=fotoget >

A big thanks to everybody, who reported bugs and helped me!

Have fun,
Herwig Bauernfeind

From: "Mark Dodel"

http://www.innotek.de/products/innowin/innowingeneral_e.html

"The InnoTek Runtime for OS/2 is a software runtime environment used by
several InnoTek Products which are based on Win32 applications. The use of

reduces the memory footprint and improves application interoperability.

InnoTek products based on the InnoTek Runtime for OS/2 will indicate this
requirements. In general, the latest version available of the InnoTek
Runtime for OS/2 should be used. "
