Important note for eCS MT 1.10.3.x

If you download ecsmt.zip and ecsutil.zip, make sure that you also get the latest language dependent files, ss?45011.zip, ss?45012.zip, and ss?45013.zip (for smp users only). The easiest way to accomplish this is to download the 2 base files, unzip them into an empty directory, execute ecsmt, select a drive, and then select the download updates and download any SSI updates (dialog enhancer, etc.) that show up in the list.

I am getting quite a few messages concerning failures that are caused by using the old versions of the language dependent files.

Warpstock 2002 Social

Join your fellow OS/2-eCS users for an evening of socializing, fun, entertainment and Texas Style Barbeque. We'll be having dinner in a Warpstock-only room at the The County Line BBQ. http://www.countyline.com/index.html

Set in an old lake lodge, the County Line on the Lake is right on Bull Creek just off Lake Austin, and has been well known for years as "The Place" in Austin to take out-of-town guests. Cocktails on the large redwood deck overlooking the water are a must.

We've ordered up a Texas-sized Cadillac platter for everyone - 5 different meats, all genuine Texas style Barbeque. Baked beans, cole slaw and potato salad, round out the menu. We're sorry, no subsitutions and there is no vegetarian platter available. In addition we have live musical entertainment planned.

Bus transportation, with a scenic drive from the Austin Renaissance hotel to the County Line restaurant, and return are included in the price. We require that everyone ride the bus to the event.

Seating for this event is very limited this year, so you may want to purchase your ticket as soon as possible. Once we have reached our limit no more tickets can be sold. To purchase your ticket to the Warpstock 2002 Social, please refer to the following URL: http://www.warpstock.org/2002/registration/registration.html#social

To learn the latest information about OS/2 and eComstation, come to Warpstock 2002, which this year is taking place in the home of OS/2 development. Warpstock will take place the weekend of October 5-6, 2002 in Austin, Texas at the Renaissance Austin Hotel. You can find the complete presentation schedule as well as event registration and hotel reservation information at our web site: http://www.warpstock.org.

Warpstock, Inc., is a North Carolina corporation. The Warpstock annual conference is a gathering of OS/2 users, developers, and vendors from around the world for the purpose of education and advocacy.

WinWpi v0.21

WinWpi is a program that allows to list and unpack WarpIN (WPI) archives on a DOS/Win32 system. The new version corrects a major bug of version 0.2.

Download: http://hobbes.nmsu.edu/cgi-bin/h-search?key=winwpi021

Note: The "bug" was nothing less than the fact that version 0.2 was UNABLE to extract more than one single file from an archive (plus list the content)! Since I didn't hear any complaints I conclude that the program isn't being used so very much at all... But why then did I hear for a certain while so many complaints about WPI being an "non-portable" archive format?? ;-))

Well, it is ported to Win32, and whoever would like to port it to Linux or whatever is friendly invited to take the included source code and ask me any question he/she likes to ask! I do not have a Linux system, but I have already developed for it in the past and I am ready to try fixing the one or other portability problem that might arise.

WarpZip update

WarpZip has been updated and is now online.

Version 3.7 addresses download queues and how they are handled. Previously, you could download files from the internet without having to "save as" to your download directory but after WarpZip loaded the file listing, it would let you close the program without saving a list of any "unviewed" archives.

As of v3.7, any "unviewed" archives are saved for the next running of WarpZip. For example: If you have downloaded and virus scanned 10 archives via the WarpZip Download Preprocessor but only had time to view 5 of the archives... WarpZip will now save the last 5 for viewing during your next session.

As always, there is no charge for this update. Registered users are invited to stop by the PillarSoft website and upgrade to the latest version. New users are welcome to download and evaluate WarpZip as well!

WarpZip is available ($29) through BMT Micro (links available from the PillarSoft website). The $99 PillarSoft Suite has also been updated to include the latest version of WarpZip and is also available via BMT.
