eBayWatch/2 Ver 1.09q

Hello All,

I have uploaded ver 1.09q to -
http://www.eclipse.net/~knkrchnr

"eBayWatch/2 is an auction management tool for OS/2 users. It works solely with the eBay auction site. It is meant to aid the user in searching for, monitoring and bidding on auction items. eBayWatch/2 is copyright freeware."

From the readme -

- chg: Logging level 2 is now ON by default The log files will be kept trimmed to no more than 150k. Logging _should_ not put your password in the "tracelog.txt" file. I would suggest being sure of this before sending any trace info. And please let me know if it _does_ show up so I can find and remove the source.

- chg: Program will not attempt to rebid if error occurs on Buy it Now item

- new: "Select search" window is now resizable and remembers size/position

- chg: Max item page size increased from 150k to 200k (sellers are getting ridiculous with item descriptions)

- fix: Bogus info imported if "Page error" occurs

- fix: Error popup for "Page does not respond" disregards user entry User selects "Abort" or "Ignore", page retries anyway.

As usual, any feedback of things strange or broken is appreciated.

Warpstock 2003 Presentation update and Powerpoint files under OS/2

In regard to the presentations on the Warpstock site, I thought I'd let you know that there is a 16 bit Powerpoint viewer available from Microsoft. It runs well in WinOS2 and will display the Stalker Software presentation from the site.

Information is here:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;180056

and the direct link to download it is here:

http://download.microsoft.com/download/powerpoint97win95/viewer/1/W31/EN-US/ppview16.exe

Hope this is of help.

[Moderator note: This did work for viewing the Stalker CommuniGate Pro Power Point file, but I had to rename the actual file to an 8.3 name (On my system I renamed it to STALKER.PPT) and put it in a directory that was 8 byte or less names in the entire directory tree. In addition we have someone working on converting this file to something viewable under OS/2 for those who don't have win-OS/2 installed/working.

Additional note, as some people are reporting problems downloading the presentation files, I have zipped them up and updated the file download page to point to these. hat should hopefully fix the problem. I will also be adding the above links to Microsoft's Power Point97 16 bit player to the page as well.]

Warpstock 2003 Presentation files

Just to let folks know we so far have the following presentations up on the Warpstock web site http://www.warpstock.org/events/library.html

Themes and UI Customization in eComStation - Alex Taylor
REXX PARSE Exposed - Chip Davis
Stalker Software - CommuniGate Pro Messaging Server - Phillip Slater
Novell and OS/2 - Lewis G Rosenthal, CNA
Wireless with OS/2 - Lewis G Rosenthal, CNA

As more come in we will post them to the above site and periodically send out announcements.

In addition I have added the LTPlayer to that page. If you don't have Freelance this will allow you to play the PRZ files created by Freelance. You have to download ltplayer.zip; unzip it to a new directory; run ltplayer.exe which will decompress all the necessary files. You can then run LTMOBR01.EXE and view the presentations. So far only one (The Stalker Software one) has been created in Microsoft Power Point format, which unfortunately neither LTPlayer nor Freelance appear to support. If I find a way to play those I will pass it on as well.

Adaptec U320 driver

Hi all,

just a heads up for those considering u320 SCSI. A driver for the Adaptec u320 host adapters is now available at:

ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/pc/pccbbs/pc_servers/26k3256.zip

Adaptec had previously said no driver was available. At last I can finally move my eCS 1.1 installation off the old IDE drive I had to bring out of retirement when I found out my new PC had unsupported SCSI onto something with decent performance - woo-hoo.
