SW: LimeWire 4.9.11

2005-07-31

++ From the VOICE OS/2-eComStation News Service http://www.os2voice.org ++

From: Eugene Romanenko (Posted on comp.os.os2.apps)

LimeWire 4.9.11 released -
http://www.limewire.com/english/content/downloadfree.shtml

Since version 4.9 LimeWire dropped support for Java 1.3.x and now requires
Java 1.4.1 or higher in orger to run.

Just tested it with Innotek JVM and Goldencode JVM. Looks like it have
small problem with Innotek jvm - it sometimes dropped connections when
OOB search enabled (OOB search can be disabled in limewire's settings).
With goldencode jvm it runs just fine.

Full changelog here -
http://www.limewire.com/english/content/features_history.shtml - see 4.9.0
for main changes since 4.8.

Enjoy!

SW: Mozilla Unofficial 1.7.11 released

++ From the VOICE OS/2-eComStation News Service http://www.os2voice.org ++

From: "Peter Weilbacher" (Posted on:
news://secnews.netscape.com/netscape.public.mozilla.os2 )

Hi all,

I just made available my build of 1.7.11 on
http://weilbacher.org/Mozilla/builds.html
(you may have to reload the frame) which should fix all known security
problems and the two issues with 1.7.10.
As an experimental feature I also release an update package that contains
all files that changed since 1.7.8. You should be able to just unpack it
over an existing 1.7.8 installation, it worked here but it might not work
in all cases on other machines. (As I didn't see much of a point in
releasing a 1.7.10 myself I couldn't create an update from that version
which would have been a much smaller download.)

SW: NetBeans UML Plugin - SDE 3.0 for NetBeans(20050624e)

2005-08-02

++ From the VOICE OS/2-eComStation News Service http://www.os2voice.org ++

From: stellaDESPAM@DESPAMvisual-paradigm.com

Visual Paradigm Smart Development Environment 3.0 for NetBeans/ SunÖ One
(SDE-NB) is a UML modeling plug-in for NetBeans supporting model-driven
development.

SDE-NB provides a unified modeling environment with NetBeans, not only the
facilities of analysis such as Textual Analysis, Domain Analysis, Use Case
Modeling and CRC Card Support, but also the modeling features such as a
series of UML diagrams which truly conform to the latest UML 2.0
notations. SDE-NB also provides the full round-trip code generation and
code reverse engineering functions. SDE-NB being integrated to NetBeans
reduces the efforts in all phases of the software development life cycle.

SDE-NB also supports Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) and EJB Development
which supports the synchronization between object model, data model and
relational model, the generation of database and Java code including POJO
class and Enterprise JavaBeans for software development.

Visual Paradigm is pleased to announce that Smart Development Environment
(SDE) 3.0 for NetBeans/ SunÖ One has been released which has numerous
enhancements with new features.

What's new in SDE-NB 3.0?
+ Enhanced XMI Import/Export to support UML 2.0
The import and export of XMI is enhanced to support XMI 1.2, UML 2.0
compliant model and diagrams can be imported and exported to/from SDE.

+ Enhanced Smart Resources
Resource-Centric interface enables the valid editing resources listed
around the diagram elements supporting the creation of UML diagram easily
by using a few mouse clicks. Smart Resource becomes even smarter by
grouping resources of similar nature together to minimize the number of
visible resources simultaneously.

+ Use Case Details Editor
SDE-NB 3.0 provides an all-in-one environment for use case modeling,
including general model specification, multiple use case description with
rich-text editing, sub-diagrams manipulation and preview.

+ Customizable SQL
SDE-NB generates ready-to-use SQL statements which are capable of
manipulating the database. Customization of the ready-to-use SQL
statements is allowed and you are allowed to override the generated SQL
statements whenever you want to.

+ Advanced ORM Features
SDE-NB promotes mapping one class to multiple tables which optimizes the
size of database and minimizes the number of generated classes for system
implementation.

+ EJB Diagram Support
EJB diagram is provided for user to model their EJB systems so as to
support the generation of Enterprise JavaBeans for EJB development.

+ EJB Code Generation and Deployment
SDE-NB simplifies the powerful but complicated EJB development by
generating beans based on the EJB model defined by user.

Other features
+ Code generation from Class Diagram
+ Reverse Engineering UML Diagram from Java Source code
+ Support of Use Case Scheduling
+ Support of Textual Analysis
+ Support of CRC Card
+ Support of Rose Project import
+ Modeling with Visio stencils

Re: SW: JUne 2.00

2005-08-03

++ From the VOICE OS/2-eComStation News Service http://www.os2voice.org ++

From: "Eugene Gorbunoff"

JUne can't save you from the summer heat. However it saves your money,
nerves and time. JUne and JRescuer are aimed to undelete files from JFS
volumes or recover files from damaged JFS volumes.

An absolutely reliable file system hasn't yet been created.
Filesystem reliability is a combination of fault-tolerance and
availability of specialised software for FS fixing. Take JUne and Jrescuer
to reach the maximum reliability.

Whatsnew (JUne 2.00)
* Added jrescuer mode, show/recover files from damaged volumes
* Added ability to work with physical partitions (without drive letters)
* View windows (file view/EA view) modeless now, if view window is
visible
and user select another record in container, window will be filled with
new content
* Filter button on toolbar, with indication of filter activity
* Improved About dialog

Please, send us stories of your success.

SW: Tame + USB Sane Warpin Package

2005-08-05

++ From the VOICE OS/2-eComStation News Service http://www.os2voice.org ++

From: Paul Smedley

Hi All,
I've just created a Warpin installation package for the Tame 1.00
executables, plus latest USB Sane, latest faxview, latest nconvert & usb
drivers.

This should help solve some of the confusion some people have had getting
Tame + USB Sane to work.

The installation package should automatically update any old versions of
usbresmg.sys & remove any copies of usbscan.sys that can prove
problematic. It will also update SANE_CONFIG_DIR to point to the
tame\conf directory.

I'd appreciate any feedback.

Warpin file can be downloaded from http://smedley.info/sane.html

Cheers,

Paul.

"The aim of the UniAud project is the creation of universal audio driver
based on ALSA project. Maintainers do NOT undertake a commitment to add
new cards that are lacking support in ALSA project, but are going to
refresh UniAud with latest ALSA sources as far as possible. Bugfixes for
hardware specific code will correspond to ALSA fixes. Also, some nuances
are possible, but in most cases we are going to proceed like this. Authors
are planning to create new and unique API to make the usage of all
resources and features of modern audio cards possible. API will use
neither DART nor other exists OS/2's audio subsystems."

"If you are aware of some new features that you would like to see
implemented, or if you just would like to accelerate development you can
