[Fwd: [VOICENWS] SW: Maul Publisher for OS/2 service V3.04]

2005-12-11
++ From the VOICE OS/2-eComStation News Service http://www.os2voice.org ++

From: "Peter Koller"

Maul Publisher is an industrial strength desktop publisher capable of
creating virtually all of the printing seen on everyday household items.
You can use it to easily lay out newspapers, cards, books, labels, stamps,
posters, charts, forms, and even designs like building plans or furniture
arrangements.

Service upgrade V3.04 is now available:-

installer rewritten to provide internet updates.
added decompression of bitfield, huffman1d, rle4, rle8, and rle24 compressed
bitmaps.
modified arrow key processing to take character direction into account.
improved text formatting speed when editing.
added greater choice of colour entry possibilities.
fixed DBCS highlighting and selection problems.
fixed codepage dialog in wingstamp express.
fixed text highlighting in tables with different character directions.
fixed text formatting in complex frame shapes.
fixed 'plain text without newlines' import filter.
fixed text orphan suppression in first and last paragraphs.
fixed bug in keyboard shortcut editor.
fixed bug in masterpage save dialog.
fixed installer bug to allow installation from maul\install.

To service Maul:-
Download maulebin304.zip, and either maulelen304.zip or maulelde304.zip or
both, depending on the language(s) you want.

Try
http://www.manglais.com/download.php

or later
http://hobbes.nmsu.edu/cgi-bin/h-search?key=maule

Unzip all the files in the .\maul\install directory where maul was
installed and run the installer. You need to install the binary executive
and library files, as well as the appropriate language packs. It is safe
to install later versions of Maul V3.xx over earlier ones.

Please take the trouble to report any bugs that you may find!

SW: TextHelper 0.0909

2005-12-12
++ From the VOICE OS/2-eCS News Service http://www.os2voice.org ++

From: Don Hawkinson

During December, I am offering a prerelease special on TextHelper and my other
shareware programs. Register TextHelper now for $10 and for another $10 you can
get the registered versions of my other shareware offered on my web page.

http://www.dwhawkinson.com

TextHelper is not yet listed on my web page.
The download links are:
http://home.tulsaconnct.com/dwhawk/th_s090.zip
and for OS/2 & eCS users who speak Dutch:
http://home.tulsaconnct.com/dwhawk/th_ds090.zip

The Dutch version of the online help is not yet available.

Run the installs.cmd to install TextHelper on your desktop.

I am interested in comments and bug reports even if you decide not to register
TextHelper.

TextHelper is simple editor based on the MultiLineEditor class from the IBM Open
Class Library. I have added some text manipulation functions and special
support for printing on HP Deskjet and Laserjet printers. If you do not have a
compatible printer, there is also a generic printer option.

TextHelper is not intended to replace any full functioned editor. Its value is
mainly the ability to print in Landscape or Portrait mode; on US letter, US
legal, and Euro A4 sized paper and envelope sizes; in 5, 10,12, 16, or 20
characters per inch or proportional; in 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10 ,12 lines per inch; 6,
12, or 24 character point size; in bold or letter quality mode; with or without
line numbers; with or without a 3 hole punch margin; and in combinations of
those options.

SW: Clipview 3.1 is released and is on Hobbes

2005-12-13
++ From the VOICE OS/2-eCS News Service http://www.os2voice.org ++

From: daveDESPAM@DESPAMdeezee.org

Clipview 3.1 is released and is on Hobbes

New features bug fixes etc:
Changed format of .ClipSave to remember window width
Moved text strings to resource dll.
Added -C switch "Start with Clip Capture off" option.
Added -l Switch to set locked clip background colour.
Added -t Switch to specify window title.
Added keyboard navigation.
Added "Help Contents" to Help menu.
Fixed - Disabled in-situ edit of locked clips.
Fixed - Error in handling legacy .ClipSave files.

Clipview is now NLS ready. I should have a German version soon.
If you want your language and are prepaired to translate then
drop me an email for the files etc..

N.B. ClipView 2.5 & above uses a changed .ClipSave format.
It is NOT backwards compatible.
Upgrading from earlier versions should not present any problems.

I don't know about you, but I always seem to want to paste what I clipped three
operations back :-) So I wrote ClipView, based on the Unix program cutview.

The Clipview suite of programs consists of:

ClipView v3.1 - Gives multiple text clipboards. Clips may be printed, edited,
saved to a buffer and locked. Optionally the entire set of clips and their state
can be saved across invocations of ClipView.

ClipPrint v1.2 - Prints the current text contents of the clipboard.

PipeClip v2.3 - Used on the command line to pipe output to the clipboard.
eg dir /w | pipeclip

ClipPipe v1.0 - Used on the command line to pipe input from the clipboard.
eg clippipe | someprogram

ClipWait v1.0 - Used in scripts to wait until something gets written to
the clipboard.

CV_Client_OS2 2.1 } These are now considered stable.
} They allow clipboards to communicate
CV_Server_OS2 2.1 } across machines.

CV_Client_WIN 2.1 } These are considered Beta.
} They allow clipboards to communicate
CV_Server_WIN 2.1 } across machines.

SW: Open Watcom Version 1.4 RC3 released

2005-12-15
++ From the VOICE OS/2-eCS News Service http://www.os2voice.org ++

From: Michal Necasek, Posted on: news://www-1.scitechsoft.com/openwatcom.users.c_cpp

This will be the final 1.4 release unless some showstopper is discovered soon.
There are minimal changes compared to RC2, mostly a few missing headers have
been added.

Available at:

http://www.openwatcom.org/ftp/

After spending inordinate amount of time on the old/new installer, I can now
at least say that the next release should be far easier to do, since the
installer build process is now almost entirely automated.

On to version 1.5...
