SW: Tame updated to v1.04

2006-07-08
++ From the VOICE OS/2-eCS News Service http://www.os2voice.org ++

From: Paul Smedley

Hi All,

I just updated Tame to v1.04 at http://smedley.info/os2ports

Changes in this build include:
- CVS Update
- Updated to latest usbcalls.dll, usbresmg.sys from froloff
- Fixed problem with Avision/HP Backend scanners

Froloff would like feedback on his changes to usbcalls.dll & usbresmg.sys,
so it would be appreciated if people could test there USB scanners with
this release even if their current version of Tame is working well.

Cheers,

Paul Smedley

SW: SW: Filepage v4.0 alpha

2006-07-08
++ From the VOICE OS/2-eCS News Service http://www.os2voice.org ++

From: Ian Manners

FilePage v4.0 Alpha is a standalone program that creates html file-lists as
used by os2site.com Will index your file directories on your web server, or
just for local use. Filepage can also create customizable html output for
use as a navigating tool on CD's or DVD's, a banner file that you can make
as fancy as you wish, and many more options. FAST, written in C. Freeware.

Changes include being able to change column headers, tighter HTML, and
major internal changes with more to come.

change.log included in package.

I'm more than happy to modify/change or make additions on request. The
package is undergoing a major rewrite with more parameters included in
filepage.cnf but it should also end up being a lot easier to use.

Can be found at :-
http://hobbes.nmsu.edu/cgi-bin/h-search?key=filepage40a.zip

current and older versions can also be found here :

++ From the VOICE OS/2-eCS News Service http://www.os2voice.org ++

From: Paul Smedley

Hi All,

A while ago I mentioned that I would try and build the latest Postgres for
OS/2.

I now have it building and it 'appears' to work locally. (I say 'appears'
because I don't really know what I'm doing with it!!).

Would anyone interested in testing and providing feedback please contact me
at paulDESPAM@DESPAMsmedley.info to be provided with a link to the first build.

Thanks,

Paul.

My apologies for posting a similar message earlier, but forgetting to
actually put the ZIP file on the site -- just put it down to a failing
brain cell. Thanks go to Ed Durrant for alerting me to the fact.

Event: MultiMedia Is A Way of Life

2006-07-14
++ From the VOICE OS/2-eCS News Service http://www.os2voice.org ++

From: Tom Brown

MultiMedia Is A Way of Life For Jerry Rash
Saturday, July 15
9:30 AM - 1 PM

Our good friend Jerry Rash (aka Mr. MultiMedia) is back.

Jerry will us show an alternative to the PVR PC Video Capture Card. Come
see a Replay TV 5000 DVR home recorder connected to an eCS laptop via
Ethernet. Enjoy streaming video playback via WarpVision or download and
watch the videos locally with FFPLAY. Downloaded files can be used with DVD
Author to create DVDs that commercial players can use. (DVD Author will be
discussed in detail at a future meeting.)

A second item, if time permits, will be a quick touch on PODcast support in
WarpVision and Firefox using the MediaPlayerConnectivity extension. Yes, we
can watch on-line movies too!

Next, Bob Blair is going to give us another installment of his
"Introduction to PM Programming" tutorial. And, the Programming SIG will
also give us an update on current status of the Developer's Assistant.

Don't forget to bring your questions to the ever popular Q&A session. It
gives you a great opportunity to work the kinks out of your systems. See
you on Saturday.

Room 326 of the Eastside Christian School
at the Grace Ministries Complex
