SW: Pronews/2 v1.59 released

2007-06-24
++ From the VOICE OS/2-eCS News Service http://www.os2voice.org ++

From: Trevor Hemsley

I'm pleased to announce the release of Pronews/2 v1.59

Pronews/2 is a multithreaded NNTP Newsreader program for OS/2.

If you are upgrading from any Pronews/2 release prior to 1.59 you are
strongly advised to make a backup copy of the file \pronews\toolbar.ini as
this release changes the on-disk format of this file. You will not be able
to run a previous release of Pronews/2 unless you restore an old copy of
this file.

If you are upgrading from a release prior to 1.54 then you are strongly
urged to backup your existing filter files as the files have a different
on-disk format from 1.54 onwards. Failure to backup files *.FLT in \pronews
and \pronews\headers will mean it will be impossible to use your filters if
you should need to revert to a release prior to 1.54. You should also read
the readme.txt file installed in the \pronews directory as this covers
changes and new features from prior releases as well as tips for making
Pronews/2 quicker.

You can find Pronews/2 1.59 on http://hobbes.nmsu.edu/pub/incoming

http://hobbes.nmsu.edu/pub/incoming/pn2v159.zip

(later to be http://hobbes.nmsu.edu/pub/os2/apps/internet/news/reader) as
pn2v159.zip.

Pronews/2 is shareware and all profits from its sale are donated to the
charity Save the Children.

Pronews/2 v1.59 is a relatively small update with a few bugs fixed. There
are no new features in this release. A list of the fixes is available in
your \pronews directory after install in the file fixed.txt.

More information about all changes and installation instructions can be
found in the readme file after (or during) the install.

Panorama VESA is the first project which:

All Video tests and All DIVE tests, save as html; zip to .ziq; subj:
Panorama benchmarks;)

Do you have clear examples how to use Dive, VMAN, fullscreen? We are
already publish this information and distribute it among all developers of
eComStation applications.

SW: FM/2 3.6.0 has been released.

2007-06-26
++ From the VOICE OS/2-eCS News Service http://www.os2voice.org ++

From: David Graser

FileManager/2 (FM/2) is a freeware OS/2 (warp)/ eCS PM 32-bit
file/directory/archive maintenance utility (a sort of super-Drives object,
something midway between the Drives objects and a more traditional file
manager) with plenty of bells, whistles and utilities, drag and drop,
context menus, toolbars and accelerator keys.

This build has been converted over to Open Watcom. It also contains bug
fixes in addition to using a Warpin install.

It can be found on Hobbes:

http://hobbes.nmsu.edu/cgi-bin/h-search?sh=1&button=Search&key=fm2-3-6-0

[Moderator note: Currently in \incoming:
http://hobbes.nmsu.edu/pub/incoming/fm2-3-6-0.zip ]

Source files and ticketed items can be found at

http://svn.netlabs.org/fm2

It has a support group at

http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/fm2user/

The utilities aren't included in this package. If you installed version
3.5.9 with the utilities, it is not necessary to install them again. If
you don't have the utilities installed, download 3.5.9 from Hobbes and
extract the utilities wpi and put it in the same directory as your 3.6.0
build and run the 3.6.0 install. It will then give you the option of
installing the utilities along with build 3.6.0.

If you are a programmer and always wanted a feature added, but did not have
the build environment, this should no longer be the case since the source
now builds with Open Watcom. Source files can be obtained from

http://svn.netlabs.org/fm2

Enjoy!

David

the entrie user interface) --
