SW: PMView Pro v3.51 is now available.

2007-08-01
++ From the VOICE OS/2-eCS News Service http://www.os2voice.org ++

From: Peter Nielsen

PMView Pro v3.51 is now available.

PMView Pro is a fast shareware image viewer/converter for OS/2 and windows.

List of new features and bug fixes:

http://www.pmview.com/whatsnew.html

"The following bugs and problems are fixed in PMView v3.51:

1. The File Convert dialog is unable to create a directory if a
relative path is used.
2. The File Copy, and Move dialogs resolve and store the fully resolved
absolute directory path in the list of most recently used directories. This
behavior is changed in PMView v3.51 and the relative path is now stored
instead of the absolute path.
3. When a spinbutton gets the focus, the cursor placement is platform
dependent. This verison improves spinbutton behavior. Now the cursor is
always placed at the end of the last character. In addition, the text in
the spinbutton is selected, which makes it possible to directly type in a
new value.
4. It is not possible to tab between the fields of the Selection Info
dialog."

IMPORTANT: To obtain the full (registered) version of the update, you will
need to follow the download instructions included in the e-mail that was
sent to you when you purchased PMView Pro. If you have lost this
information, please contact sales@blueprintsoftwareworks.com.

Trial (demo) versions of PMView can be downloaded at http://www.pmview.com
Registered users, please note that the trial versions CANNOT be registered.
If you have purchased PMView Pro, please follow the download instructions
in the e-mail sent by BMT Micro.

Thanks,
Peter

SW: Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.6 Has Been Released

2007-08-01
++ From the VOICE OS/2-eCS News Service http://www.os2voice.org ++

From: Sander Nyman <2sanderDESPAM@DESPAMsbcglobal.net>

Michael Kaply has released Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.5 (Official) for OS/2.
This release is a security update, fixing 2 vulnerabilities, 1 of which is
rated critical.

You can download it here:

http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/2.0.0.6/contrib/firefox-2.0.0.6.en-US.os2.zip

NOTE: This release requires the C runtime DLLs from Innotek. Version
0.5.1 includes an installer. Available here:

http://download.innotek.de/gccos2/runtime/libc-0.5.1.exe

NOTE: This release requires IPLUGINW.DLL to use the Java and Flash
plugins. Available here:

http://e-vertise.com/warpzilla/ipluginw20050915.xpi
or here:
http://download.innotek.de/javaos2/mozilla/ipluginw20050915.xpi

NOTE: To have both Firefox, & Thunderbird in use at the same time (or
ANY other Mozilla app) they *MUST* be at the SAME version level, or a
mismatched DLL will still be in memory when you attempt to start a
second Mozilla based program. The easiest way to get around this
limitation, and use DIFFERENT version levels of Firefox, Thunderbird,
Kompozer, etc., is with Rich Walsh's Run! utility. It is tiny, and VERY
easy to set up. To make life even easier, I recommend that you
download & use the Internet Application Integration utility from Chuck
McKinnis, which actually contains the Run! utility, and sets it up for
you, along with coordinating your web browser with your email client for
"mailto" links, etc. You can find it here:

http://7cities.net/~mckinnis/code/iai1050.exe

Or, if you'd rather do it yourself, here is the Run! utility:

http://hobbes.nmsu.edu/pub/os2/util/wps/run_060.zip

Firefox extensions (add-ons) that add new functionality are available here:

https://addons.update.mozilla.org/extensions/?application=firefox

Firefox themes (skins) are available here:

https://addons.mozilla.org/themes/?application=firefox

Thunderbird, & Seamonkey, Steve Wendt's excellent "Tips For Warpzilla" page
can be found here:

Net: eCo Software newsletter, 200707

2007-08-05
From: Eugene Gorbunoff

In the beginning of the summer we updated: ACPI subsystem, Panorama
video drivers, Bootable JFS, General Network Utilities, Piano Launchpad,
eSchemes, Firewall ports setup, Personal Cards Manager Traffic Visor
III, PNG IO Proc. Mokey's audio IO Proc, T&V HappyPlayer, etc.

eComStation growed in the last 5 years. All planned technologies,
applications and drivers were created. What is the next target? The main
goal today is select/create TOP TEN eComStation applications (and 30
must-have applications and tools for usual PC user).

1. Updated eCo Software runtime

Please pay attention to requirements of our software, install needed
runtimes first.

Attention:
* If you have Imagination released in the first part of 2007 and going
install new program from eCo Software then ..
* If you have WPFLDREX.DLL released in the first part of 2007 then ..

Then read the instructions --
http://ecomstation.ru/projects/neowps/?action=critical
update the runtime and our software.

2. ACPI sub-system

ACPI is the engine which pushes eComStation ahead today.

Updated ACPI.PSD 2.22 (20070526), APM.ADD, ACPI snooper (download from
BETAZONE)
* ACPI supports multicore notebooks/desktops based on VIA chipset now
* ACPI.PSD can't boot if MADT ACPI table absent - fixed
* New switch /St for ACPI.PSD
* Stack is replaced on UNI and SMP now, so /EIS should work better

APM.ADD - Please join the testing of suspend/resume. eComStation is able
perform
this operation even on multi-core notebooks! Read ACPI-APM.doc -> 4.0 Usage.

New perspectives make us move the support service to the tracker:
http://svn.netlabs.org/acpi
Create ticket, input Title: model of notebook or motherboard or common
problem; post the report, attach files. Mention if you have posted
reports in the past (we have 2 collections already)

ACPI makes developers create new applications and tools. Please,
download new smart and modern Battery Widget.

(every schemes contains different colors, buttons and other parameters),
please apply the schemes designed by professional designers, don't spend
time to schemes editing.
