SW: Generic GBM Module for Maul Publisher

2008-11-02
++ From the VOICE OS/2-eCS News Service http://www.os2voice.org ++

From: Peter Koller

Made for Maul Publisher V3.15 for OS/2

This package replaces the gbmdll.dll module provided with Maul Publisher,
and allows the use of the latest gbm.dll, at the time of writing, V1.62.

This replacement module is not currently intended to be a part of the
standard Maul distribution, and is experimental in nature!

In order for the module to work, the gbm dll must be properly installed and
functional.

* if you publish the announcement (announcement of new versions). Remember
the experience of JUne.

SW: SMPlayer 0.5.21 port updated

2008-11-04
++ From the VOICE OS/2-eCS News Service http://www.os2voice.org ++

From: Christian Hennecke

Silvan Scherrer has released an updated version of the port of SMPlayer
0.5.21. SMPlayer is a GUI front-end for MPlayer, a command-line movie
player that is available for many systems and supports a wide range of
formats and codecs, either natively or via Win32 DLL codecs. For instance,
you can watch VideoCD, SVCD, DVD, 3ivx, DivX 3/4/5, WMV, and even H.264 movies.

SMPlayer intends to be a complete front-end for MPlayer, from basic
features like playing videos, DVDs, and VCDs to more advanced features like
support for MPlayer filters and more.

Changes in this version:

* fixed a bug in Qt DLL which occured when playing from playlist
* renamed icon files to match WPS behaviour
* with newest mplayer from Hobbes the resizing problem is fixed
* fixed a bug introduced when adding more file extensions

The package is available at:

SW: Apache2 updated to v2.2.10

2008-11-06
++ From the VOICE OS/2-eCS News Service http://www.os2voice.org ++

From: Mark Dodel

Paul Smedley has updated Apache2 to v2.2.10. http://www.smedley.info/os2ports/

"The Apache HTTP Server Project is an effort to develop and maintain an
open-source HTTP server for modern operating systems including UNIX and
Windows NT. The goal of this project is to provide a secure, efficient and
extensible server that provides HTTP services in sync with the current HTTP
standards.

Apache has been the most popular web server on the Internet since April
1996. The November 2005 Netcraft Web Server Survey found that more than 70%
of the web sites on the Internet are using Apache, thus making it more
widely used than all other web servers combined.

The Apache HTTP Server is a project of the Apache Software Foundation.

Changes in v2.2.10

* Updated to v2.2.10 source
* Moved to GCC 4.3.2
